A Spanish engineer from Plastic SCM has developed Yayagram, a device for his grandmother, who cannot use a smartphone.
Due to the pandemic, the grandmother found herself in a terrible situation: communicating with her family on a smartphone is problematic for her, since she does not know how to write messages, and calls due to hearing problems are also swept aside.
The device is made in retro style, all elements are analog. There is already a list of contacts here. To send a message, you need to rearrange the wire in the desired slot, and then dictate a voice message.
The answer comes in text form and is printed thanks to the built-in thermal printer. Everything runs on a Raspberry Pi 4 mini computer.
The grandmother was very pleased with the device and now actively communicates with her children and grandchildren. Story!
