Xiaomi has started selling a re-release of its 2019 hit, Redmi Note 8 2021, in Russia.
Interestingly, the original Redmi Note 8 was not officially sold in Russia, only a more expensive model, the Redmi Note 8 Pro, is available through the “white” supply channels.
Now Russian users are offered Redmi Note 8 2021 in blue and black color options for the case at a recommended retail price of 15,990 rubles for the version with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal flash memory, as well as 17,990 rubles for the version with 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of flash memory.
Externally, the model does not differ from its predecessor. The main differences in performance were the MediaTek single-chip system instead of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 665, as well as the transition from Android 9.0 Pie and MIUI 10 to Android 11 and MIUI 12.5.
Redmi Note 8 2021 received a 6.3-inch screen with a Full HD + resolution (2340 x 1080 pixels), Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protective glass, a 13 megapixel front camera, a main quadruple camera with a 48 megapixel Samsung GM1 main sensor, a fingerprint scanner on the back, SoC MediaTek Helio G85, 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal flash memory, a 4000 mAh battery with support for 18W charging.
4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi (802.11 ac, 2.4 and 5 GHz), Bluetooth 5.2, GPS and GLONASS are supported, there is an IR sensor, 3.5 mm audio jack and USB Type-C, FM radio and splash protection ( P2i coverage).
As a reminder, in May 2020, the international sales of Redmi Note 8 and Redmi Note 8 Pro exceeded 30 million smartphones. According to analyst firm Canalys, Redmi Note 8 became the world’s best-selling Android smartphone in the fourth quarter of 2019.
