The company is testing a system update. Gamers will be able to play games like Fortnite and Apex Legends without paying a subscription. In this regard, the console will be similar to the PlayStation and Nintendo Switch – they also do not require a subscription to access multiplayer.
In late January, it became known that prices for the Xbox Live Gold subscription would increase. The change in policy regarding free multiplayer games is related to this. It will come into effect at the end of 2021.
