After Apple asked to expand production, Luxshare built a new 30 hectare plant in just 5 months.
Apple is considering starting assembling its iPhones in Vietnam. A new report says the company recently visited the Luxshare plant to check its readiness and workers’ living conditions.
Tang Due Bang, Luxshare’s public relations manager, told local media that Apple had visited a factory in Wang Chung Industrial Park. The company representatives wanted to check how ready the enterprise is for production, whether it has everything it needs to start assembling the iPhone.
Luxshare recently requested financial support to expand AirPods production, and sources say it has received it. In addition, after Apple asked to expand production, the company built a new 30-hectare plant in just 5 months.
Luxshare currently has about 28,000 employees, but the number could easily grow to 50,000 or even 60,000 if the company gets approval to build an iPhone.
