The new SoC will be presented along with a smartphone costing less than $ 300
In an effort to maintain its market leadership, Qualcomm regularly releases new mobile platforms. According to rumors, the American company is planning to release a new mid-range SoC called Snapdragon 732G in September.
The chipset uses two Kryo 430 Gold and six Kryo 470 Silver cores clocked at 2.3 GHz and 1.8 GHz, respectively. The processor will also have an Adreno 618 GPU. The source also adds that the Snapdragon 732G will not support fifth generation networks. The new SoC will be unveiled alongside a sub- $ 300 smartphone in Vietnam this September.
According to rumors, the Snapdragon 732G will most likely be an updated version of the Snapdragon 730G, which has a similar architecture: 2 Kryo 470 Gold cores (based on Cortex-A76) clocked at 2.2GHz and 6 Kryo 470 Silver cores (based on Cortex- A55) clocked at 1.8 GHz. The difference lies in the higher clock speeds of the larger cores. The new platform is also expected to work better with artificial intelligence applications.
