The camera of the foldable smartphone Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 has been tested by DxOMark. According to the test results, the device is close in its capabilities to the mid-budget OnePlus Nord and is inferior to last year’s flagships Xiaomi.

According to the DxOMark report, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 scored 109 points. It’s worth noting that the mid-range Pixel 4a introduced this year scored 111 points. However, this smartphone is equipped with a single main camera. DxOMark notes that the Galaxy Z Fold 2 is not very detailed in images. Also, he suffers from an abundance of noise and problems with autofocus in low light conditions and shooting indoors.

These results are disappointing, given the characteristics of the main sensor of the Galaxy Z Fold 2. Recall that all three sensors of the main camera have a resolution of 12 megapixels. The main sensor boasts an f / 1.8 aperture. Likely, Samsung did not pay enough attention to the software component of the camera.

It was noted that the Galaxy Z Fold 2 suffers from artifacts in the finished images, such as colored halos of objects. However, the device’s camera boasts good exposure, brightness, and white balance. Of course, the manufacturer focused on the possibilities associated with a flexible screen, but the fact that the camera’s capabilities roughly correspond to mid-range smartphones is somewhat depressing.
