Fully wireless earbuds (TWS) are the trend of our time. They are compact, easy to use, and have good autonomy. Here are a few models that, in our opinion, are worthy of attention.
Xiaomi Redmi AirDots 3
Xiaomi surprises once again. For only 4000 rubles. you get headphones that can work up to 7 hours without recharging (and with a case, all 30), working via Bluetooth 5.2, having a sensor that tells you to stop playback when you pull the earphone out of your ear. At the same time, they perfectly keep in the ears and are quite suitable for jogging (they have IPX4 protection). Support for the aptX codec is provided, which is also a rarity for budget models. In short, an excellent set of characteristics for such a low price.
Of the minuses – oddly enough, but the lack of black headphones in the assortment. There is blue, pink and white – everything. There is also no way to switch tracks. Double tap on the right earpiece pauses playback and starts the music again, on the left one activates the voice assistant.
Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro
One of the nicest TWS earbuds on the market. And from a technical point of view, they are some of the best. For example, each headphone uses two speakers (11 and 6.5 mm), support for the Dolby Atmos standard and a sensor that tracks the position of your head. If you watch a video on your Galaxy S21 and turn your head to the side, the soundstage changes as if the smartphone were the physical sound source.
There is of course an active noise cancellation system as well as a transparent mode. Their work can be configured through the application. Of the nice “tricks” – the noise reduction can be automatically turned off, and the transparency mode can be turned on when you start speaking.
The Galaxy Buds Pro are IPX7 protected, whereas more affordable competitors usually offer IPX5 protection. In fact, this means that Samsung headphones will survive even rain without any problems. With autonomy, too, everything is in order: the gadgets themselves sound up to 8 hours (with the noise switch off), another 20 is provided by the charging case. By the way, charging is supported both via USB-C and wireless.
Jabra Elite 85t
Jabra recently released the Elite 85t and we have already tested it. Outwardly, they hardly differ from the 75t, but in fact, there is a difference. For example, the mesh protecting the speakers is not made on the case, but on the ear pads. This makes it much easier to clean. In addition, the design of the headphones is now semi-open, that is, air communication is provided between the ear canal and the external environment. This avoids excessive pressure in the ear.
The Jabra Elite 85t not only features Active Noise Cancellation: it also adjusts the noise compensation level. Of course. there is also a transparency mode HearThrough. Without recharging, the headphones work up to 7 hours (with the noise reduction turned off), using the case – up to 31 hours. In this case, only 15 minutes. charging lasts for 1 hour.
JBL Live 300 TWS
JBL already has a very large selection of fully wireless headphones. The simplest model JBL T100TWS costs a little more than 2,000 rubles. But in our 2021 TWS headphone ranking, we decided to include the more advanced JBL Live 300 TWS. They fit perfectly in the ear, have IPX5 protection, a good battery, Bluetooth 5.0 and 12-mm speakers. One of the features of the headset is the TalkThru and Ambient Aware functions, which allow you to add ambient sounds to the music if you want so that you can hear the interlocutors and not feel completely isolated.
To set up the headphones, use the My JBL Headphones application: in it you can select a voice assistant, create your own acoustic profile and set sound parameters. On a single charge, the earbuds work up to 6 hours, from the case they can be charged two or three more times. There is also fast charging: in 10 minutes the gadget will receive energy for an hour of playback.
Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2
If you are looking for compact headphones with great sound quality, take a closer look at the Sennheiser model. Today it is one of the most popular TWS headsets among music lovers. The headphones are equipped with touch buttons that can be configured in the Sennheiser Smart Control app. There is support for voice assistants Google Assistant and Apple Siri, as well as the Smart Pause function – a smart pause at which playback stops if you take off the headphones.
The device is IPX4 certified – this is the basic splash protection that allows you to use the headphones in the rain. To connect, the headset uses modern Bluetooth 5.1 with support for AAC and aptX codecs. The case is charged via USB-C, it is enough for about 3 full charges. On one battery, the earbuds can work up to 7 hours.
Another great sounding model is the Sony WF-1000XM3. In addition, the earbuds have active noise cancellation. They use two microphones – external and internal – to capture the maximum amount of ambient noise. If you often listen to music on public transport or while exercising, a good noise reduction is definitely a must-have. Like Sennheiser’s headphones, this is a vacuum model.
For connection, NFC and Bluetooth 5.0 are used with AAC, A2DP and AVRCP profiles. The earbuds can work on a single charge up to 6 hours and charge three more times from the case. There is support for fast charging: 10 minutes in the case is enough for an hour and a half of playback.
Soundcore Liberty 2 Pro
Soundcore Liberty 2 Pro is a model of the American manufacturer Anker, which is not inferior in sound quality to headphones from Sony and Sennheiser, but costs almost half the price of competitors. The proprietary application Soundcore is used for setting, in which you can change the equalizer or choose one of 22 ready-made presets for different musical genres. The model also supports the unusual Hear ID function, with which it can adjust the sound of the headphones to your hearing.
The set comes with a large set of ear pads and an unusual case, from which they can be charged twice. On a single charge, the earbuds work up to 8 hours – this is almost a record result. We recently tested this model, all the details about the Liberty 2 Pro can be found in the review.
However, in addition to TWS headphones, there are other compact wireless models – for example, on the neckband. Look for them in our other selection.
