It will become more difficult to hijack them
Tesla is working on updating its Tesla App for smartphones to act as a key. Through the application, you can not only find out the remaining mileage or turn on the air conditioner, but also open the door, hatch or trunk. The new version of the program will introduce two-factor authentication – and this will make it more secure.
The introduction of two-factor authentication into the Tesla App has been talked about for a long time, but only now has it moved. According to Elon Musk, the new feature is in the final stages of testing and will soon be implemented in the custom version of the program. Access confirmation will be done via SMS or via an authenticator app. Along the way, Elon Musk apologized that the developers had delayed the implementation of this important function. Of course, two-factor authentication will make the Tesla App more secure and make it much more difficult to steal a car by stealing the owner’s smartphone.
