Sony has canceled unpaid pre-orders for the PlayStation 5 Digital Edition console. The cover letter that users received says about the “impossibility to execute the application within the previously expected time frame.”

If users paid for the pre-order, then the console will be received at the designated time.

Sony may have named the reason for canceling pre-orders, but it sounds very unconvincing, especially against the backdrop of the recent rise in prices for consoles.

Recall that since April 1 this year, the PlayStation 5 has risen in price from 46,990 to 49,990 rubles (the version with a disk drive) and from 37,900 to 40,990 rubles (Digital Edition). There are still no consoles on the free sale, and when they appear is a mystery, everything diverges according to pre-orders.
