Last year, the Oppo Watch launched on the market, which was equipped with the Snapdragon Wear 3100 mobile platform and ran ColorOS in China, as well as WearOS in the global market. Now the successor to Oppo Watch is being prepared for release, the details of which were reported by members of the XDA Developers forum.
In the latest firmware, information has surfaced that the Oppo Watch 2 smartwatch will be based on the Snapdragon Wear 4100 single-chip system, which is codenamed msm8937_32go. The global version of the device will run WearOS, while China will launch a version based on Android 8.1.
The original Oppo Watch is equipped with 8GB of internal flash storage. At the same time, the firmware says that the Oppo Watch 2 will receive 16 GB of non-volatile memory. The leak also suggests that the new smartwatch will offer new watch faces, stress detection, and an Oppo Relax app that lets you unwind and calm down quickly.
The Oppo Watch 2 is expected to have a square screen like the previous model. Smartwatches must have built-in eSIM support to connect to LTE networks. The OPPO Watch 2 launch date has yet to be confirmed. OPPO is reportedly working on another smartwatch called OPPO Watch Free. At the moment, nothing is known about the characteristics of this device.
