It’s rarely good news that the next generation of smartphones will be cheaper than the current ones. And it is doubly pleasant when it comes not to entry-level models but flagships. We are talking about the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S21 series.
According to a Korean source, the Samsung Galaxy S21 smartphones’ cost will decrease compared to the Galaxy S20 smartphones. The base Galaxy S21 is known to cost between $ 850 and $ 900. Even though the cheapest Galaxy S20 at the start of sales cost $ 1,000, the Galaxy S21 + will drop in price in the same range: $ 1050-1100 instead of $ 1200. Also, the cost of the top version of the Galaxy S21 Ultra will be in the range of $ 1250-1300 versus $ 1400, which was requested for the base Galaxy S20 Ultra.
And although the source does not claim that prices will actually decline, events may well develop according to the following scenario. First, it will allow Samsung to take a decent share of Huawei’s market, which is in deep crisis. And secondly, the company will compete more with the super successful iPhone 12.
