The Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology and Mass Media (Roskomnadzor) came up with a new proposal, the brief essence of which is that officials want to let Russians into social networks only with a passport.
The corresponding project, entitled “On Approval of the Rules for Using the Information System of the Federal Service for Supervision in the Sphere of Communications, Information Technology and Mass Media,” has already been published on the official portal of legal acts.
Within its framework, it is proposed to introduce a Unified Information System, which will store passport data of citizens, their addresses of residence, as well as phones and e-mail. And registration of new users of social networks will be carried out only through this system, and social networks and messengers will be required to obtain additional consent from users to process data through their own platform or the EIS system of Roskomnadzor.
Officials want to launch this initiative from July 1, 2021. Meanwhile, ASUS presented a powerful and “indestructible” Mini PC PB62 mini-computer.
