She weighs 1 kg
At the disposal of one of the participants of the Chinese forum Koolshare was a Thermalright Frost Spirit 140 Black processor cooling system. He published a series of photographs of this interesting product and tested it in action.
Like the base model Frost Spirit 140, the novelty is a double tower of 58 copper plates, but this time the plates in the blocks are plated with “black nickel”, and the upper aluminum covers are black anodized. The thickness of the plates is 0.4 mm, the gap between them is 1.6 mm. The plates are strung on four U-shaped heat pipes with a diameter of 8 mm, the middle part passing through a copper base, also finished in “black nickel”. Due to the narrower plate widths of several lower rows, compatibility with heat sinks on voltage regulators and memory modules located next to the processor socket is ensured.
Up to three 140mm fans can be attached to the radiator. One black fan is included in the package. In addition to it, there are mounts and thermal paste in the kit. The radiator without fans weighs 1 kg. It is compatible with current Intel and AMD desktop processors. The price of new items is approximately $ 52, while the original version costs $ 38. Testing, during which the cooling systems had to divert about 150 watts of thermal power from the Intel processor, did not show a significant difference between the two product options, so only the aesthetic component will play a role in the choice. And, of course, available for sale. By the way, with regard to availability, there is no information about Thermalright’s plans to start selling Frost Spirit 140 and Frost Spirit 140 Black in yet.
