According to new information, the next Xiaomi smartwatch will support Qi wireless charging. Previously released Xiaomi smartwatches are charged using a magnetic charger.
This information was found in the latest version of MIUI for developers. The caption in Chinese at the top reads “Wireless Reverse Charging” and below shows the clock located on the back of the Xiaomi smartphone.
The text below it reads: “Please place devices that support Qi wireless charging (mobile phones, wearable devices, etc.) on the back of the phone.” There is also a switch in this section of the menu that allows the phone to stop reverse wireless battery charging when the battery level drops to a certain value. The Chinese text below it translates as “Wireless Reverse Charging will stop charging when the phone reaches 60% power.”
Xiaomi announced the first smartwatch Mi Watch powered by Snapdragon Wear 3100 in November 2019, followed by several more devices. The new model should be the successor to the original watch.
