Japan is one of the world leaders in robotics, highly competitive research, and innovative technology. A new robot created by Japanese specialists is an excellent confirmation of this. It is a huge 18-meter robot “Gundam” that can move its arms and legs.
The robot will help revitalize the country’s tourism sector, hit by the COVID-19 pandemic. It is modeled after the character from the Japanese cartoon Mobile Suit Gundam, first released in the late 1970s. The animated series is based on the history of huge fighting robots, piloted by people.
The giant robot will take center stage at the opening of the Gundam Factory, a tourist attraction located in the port city of Yokohama.
