Brazilian documentary filmmaker Ernesto Galiotto shared the story of the extraordinary adventures of his smartphone. A man filmed the beaches of Cabo Frio, Rio de Janeiro, sticking an old iPhone 6S out of the window of a light-engine plane.

At one “fine” moment, a sharp gust of wind tore the phone out of the hands of the owner. It would seem that this is where the story is over. But no! Galiotto decided to see if he could find his gadget by launching the Locator app available on Apple devices. Much to his surprise, the smartphone was still working and was able to indicate its location.

Galiotto managed to find a smartphone in the sand. Except for a few scratches, the iPhone 6S remains intact and nearly unharmed. And even though it fell from a height of about 600 meters! By comparison, this is equivalent to about 240 standard floors and 60 meters more than the Ostankino TV tower’s height. However, it should be noted that the device was still protected by a silicone case and a protective film for the screen.
