Chinese sources claim that the new iPad mini 6 may be announced tonight at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference 2021, which is also expected to announce iOS 15 and many other presentations.
It is reported that the frame of the screen will become noticeably smaller, while the diagonal of the display will be at least 8.4 inches, and the dimensions of the tablet will hardly change. The iPad mini 6 is expected to be powered by Apple’s A14 SoC, which is one of the most powerful mobile platforms in the world so far.
In addition, there is information that the tablet will receive a 5G Snapdragon modem, 64, 128 or 256 GB of flash memory, and will also support the 2nd generation Apple Pencil.
Also in development is the entry-level iPad 9 tablet, which should receive an OLED screen and Apple’s A14 single-chip system. The proprietary Touch ID fingerprint button is expected to be a thing of the past. It was abandoned due to the very narrow display bezels in both the iPad 9 and iPad mini 6.
The company recently released an updated iPad Pro tablet, which received the Apple M1 single-chip system.
