Huawei has scheduled a major presentation of HarmonyOS 2.0 and new devices based on it on June 2, 2021. On the same day, an update with a new OS is expected to be released for a number of Huawei smartphones.
However, users of devices that did not make it to the list of lucky ones for the first-priority update should not panic. As Chinese sources now report, Huawei plans to release mobile HarmonyOS 2.0 in three stages, and it will not forget its old models of smartphones and tablets.
The first to upgrade to HarmonyOS 2.0 will be the Huawei P40, Mate40, Huawei Mate 40, Huawei Mate X2, Huawei Nova 8, Huawei Nova 8 Pro and MatePad Pro series smartphones.
However, then the turn of devices of the second and third “wave” of updates will come. It is noted that the company will give priority to the series Huawei P, Huawei Mate and Nova, and then to the models of its former subsidiary brand Honor.
Earlier, the head of Huawei’s consumer software development Wang Chenglu promised that the large-scale implementation of HarmonyOS 2.0 will begin in early June and by the end of the year, HarmonyOS will be used by 300 million devices, including smartphones, tablets and IoT gadgets.
