The role of radiators will be performed by … cover hinges
Three days later, on August 19, the official announcement of the new flagship laptop Huawei – Matebook X 2020 is expected. The novelty, as befits a flagship, will receive a high-quality 13-inch screen with 3K resolution, but there will be a number of other interesting solutions. One of them concerns the cooling subsystem.
According to the source, Huawei has been working on such a solution for three years, and its meaning boils down to connecting heat pipes to the lid hinges, which … act as radiators. Since there is no active cooling element in the Matebook X 2020, the device will work silently.
The Matebook X 2020 is expected to be thin and light – it will fit on an A4 sheet. The laptop may well receive Intel Tiger Lake processors, the official premiere of which will take place in early September.
A new cooling subsystem (called Shark Fin 3.0) will also be in the new generation Matebook 14 and Matebook 13 – these models should be released simultaneously with the Matebook X 2020. There is no talk of completely silent operation, but efficiency will increase. For example, the Matebook 14 will get two fans instead of one. Also, the Matebook 14 and Matebook 13 will have a touchpad with a built-in NFC module. In terms of hardware, these models will use the Ryzen 4000 APU.
