Ford and HP have decided to join forces in the production of automotive parts. To do this, they will use HP 3D printers, which will reduce the amount of waste.
Unused powder and parts are recycled during production: they are sent to Lavergne, which makes plastic injection molding pellets. The pellets are then sent back to Ford to create parts. Here is a waste-free production!
Small parts are printed on 3D printers. For example, clamps created on such printers are 7% lighter and 10% cheaper than those made using traditional technology. In the future, the company plans to increase the production of printed parts.
