The Chinese company FIMI, which is part of the Xiaomi ecosystem, recently released the X8 Mini foldable drone. The aircraft weighing less than 250 g is a direct competitor to the DJI Mini models. The source notes that in the United States, drones weighing less than 250 grams are not required to register with the Federal Aviation Administration.

The drone is equipped with a camera with a Sony CMOS image sensor. The optical format of the sensor is 1 / 2.6 inches. The resolution is 12 megapixels. The drone can cope with wind gusts up to 10 m / s. He can fly on a route connecting the given points. It also features a return to home, real-time GPS tracking, no-fly zone protection, high wind and low battery warnings.

The dimensions of the FIMI X8 Mini when folded are 165 x 89 x 47 mm when unfolded – 200 x 145 x 56 mm, which is almost identical to the DJI Mini dimensions 2. Without recharging, the device can hold out in the air for up to 30 minutes. The X8 Mini has a maximum speed of 16 m / s.

Acceptance of pre-orders will begin on April 6, sales – on April 18. The drone is priced at $449 by the manufacturer.
