FBI and Australian federal police have detained more than 800 criminals thanks to the “safe” messenger ANOM, which they themselves developed.
Before the announcement of the application, the FBI blocked two messengers with secure communication channels. ANOM appeared in app stores, but it was also specially installed on the smartphones of crime bosses to convince other unsuspecting criminals about the safety of the platform.
As a result, all messages were viewed in real time. The messenger was installed on 12 thousand devices, which were used by about 300 syndicates in 100 countries of the world.
Thanks to the messenger, it was possible to prevent murders, drug shipments, money laundering and other crimes. The FBI claims this is the largest operation in history.
