Enthusiast Overclocks AMD Ryzen 9 3900XT To Record High In HWBot x265 Using Liquid Nitrogen For Cooling

Overclocker Takukou set a record in the HWBOT x265 benchmark this past weekend by overclocking the AMD Ryzen 9 3900XT processor using liquid helium. However, the record did not last long – a few hours ago, an enthusiast under the nickname Splave became the new record holder.

The conditions of the competition are simple: having achieved stable operation of the Ryzen 9 3900XT at an increased clock speed, the participants run the HWBot x265 test and record the achieved frame rate.

In the case of Takukou, all 12 processor cores were clocked at 5624 MHz, receiving 1.728 V of power. In this case, a frequency of 34.26 frames per second was reached. Splave was able to overclock the processor to 5650 MHz with a supply voltage of 1.50 V. The image refresh rate reached 34.78 frames per second. It is noteworthy that Splave did not use liquid helium, but liquid nitrogen.

The record for which only the clock speed of the AMD Ryzen 9 3900XT is taken into account belongs to the overclocker known as Tsaik. It is equal to 6120 MHz and has been holding for more than a month.
