Sidu River Bridge (China)
The Sidu River Bridge is the world’s tallest, and just glancing at this photo makes us nervous.
Built in 2009 for $100 million, the steel bridge opened in 2009. 1,600 feet above canyon bottom and 5,000 feet across river valley, it’s a sight to see. That’s a lot of money.

Because of the mountains, the bridge joins two previously isolated regions of the nation. It may be one of the strongest bridges ever constructed, yet it’s still unnerving to go over. Unfortunately, people who intend to tour the various landscapes have little option except to do so by plane or train.
