After multiple US sanctions, Huawei has decided to become completely independent from business partners from other countries. To this end, the company began building its own plant for the production of mobile processors. And so, the construction of this plant was completed. It is located near the city of Wuhan and covers an area of 208,900 square meters.
Also, the new plant has become the largest R&D base in the central region of China. It includes a FAB manufacturing plant, a CUB power plant, a PMD software plant, and other supporting facilities. The plant will enable Huawei to create a complete semiconductor manufacturing chain, from chip design to manufacturing, testing, and packaging.
In the future, Huawei plans to build another large chipset manufacturing plant in Shanghai.
