Scientists from the Huazhong University of Science and Technology have developed a fabric that will save you from the heat.
The fabric consists of polylactide with titanium dioxide nanoparticles sewn into its fibers. The finished material thickness is 0.55 mm.
Metatissue (as scientists called it) reflects ultraviolet, visible and infrared light in the near range.
Thanks to this structure, our meta fabric achieves near-ideal mid-infrared emissivity and maximizes heat dissipation.
The experiment carried out proved the effectiveness of meta fabric: in the sun, the body temperature of a person under a vest made of meta fabric rose from 31 ° C to 32 ° C, under a cotton vest – up to 37 ° C.
They also checked on cars: one was covered with metafil, the second with a special cover, and the third was simply left in the sun. As a result, the temperature in the first rose to 30 ° C, in the second – to 57 ° C, and in the third – to 60 ° C.
Scientists claim that the production of metafabric can be mass produced without any problems. Production costs will increase by only 10% compared to already known materials. Some clothing manufacturers are already interested in the project, so we are waiting for T-shirts and windbreakers that will “cool” in the heat.
