BOE unveils its first sliding AMOLED screen

BOE showcased its first AMOLED panel sliding display in China. It allows you to create an “expandable” smartphone – like the Huawei Mate X2 or Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2, but there is no need to fold anything: at the right moment the screen slides apart, thereby increasing the screen area – and you can already work with it like a tablet.

Reportedly, the screen can withstand more than 200,000 transformation cycles and at the same time is devoid of the most important disadvantage of folding displays – the crease that forms at the fold. The mass production of such a display has not yet been reported. But, probably, ready-made devices with it from local (Chinese) manufacturers will appear in the future in a year or two.
