Apple has unveiled a new operating system for its Macs – macOS 12 Monterey at WWDC 2021.
The new operating system offers a Universal Control feature that allows input devices such as keyboard and mouse to work universally across Apple devices. For example, you can move the cursor and drag files between a Mac and an iPad, or between two Apple laptops. You can also draw with Apple Pencil on iPad and add the drawing to your Keynote presentation on Mac.
The Safari browser has been improved – the design and power consumption have been improved, tabs can be grouped and synchronized in iCloud between Mac, iPhone and iPad.
The Shortcuts app is now available on macOS and works the same way as on iOS. A library of ready-made commands is provided, but you can also create your own.
You can also stream your screen, music, and just about any other content from your iPad or iPhone to your Mac using AirPlay.
Also in the new macOS, all new FaceTime features become available, including SharePlay (you can watch or listen to content with other users during a FaceTime call), Focus mode for notifications – these innovations are common with the iOS 15 presented today. And these are not all new features. and macOS 12 Monterey features.
A developer beta is already available. The release of macOS 12 Monterey will take place in the fall, the list of compatible PCs is already known.
